Obama's Aunt Still Taken It on the Lam -- Pre-Election Directive Thwarting Arrest Still in Effect
Some may remember the unsurprisingly poorly reported story of president Obama's aunt Zeituni Onyango, who had been living in Boston public housing illegally after having been ordered back to her native Kenya by an immigration judge four years ago.
If you remember that you may also remember the unusual directive that was handed down by President Bush, apparently aimed at preventing an embarrassment for Obama if his aunt were to be arrested. The directive required high-level government approval prior to the arrest and deportation of immigration fugitives. This extremely unusual and perhaps unprecedented directive seemed clearly aimed at the protection of Obama from the publicity that would probably have been generated by his aunt's arrest and deportation.
That order remains in effect under the Obama administration and according to the story which can be accessed by clicking anywhere on this posting Zeituni Onyango is believed to now be living in the Cleveland area.
She does however now have an immigration lawyer and one wonders what the upshot of this case will be and if it will be followed by the media.
It is interesting both as a study of the bizarre extended family of Mr. Obama and the incredible blind eye turned on them and their shenanigans by the American media.
Poor Billy Carter, if only he'd gotten such a pass.
