New York Democrats Flummoxed by Paterson Choice -- Unclear How Ox Feels about Being "Flummed" by Democrats

In case you've been wondering why the liberal Democratic party of New York and the extra liberal with nuts sprinkled on it segment of the Massachusetts Democratic Party are so upset at the New York governor's choice for Senator (Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand) you might want to consider her stance on immigration. This quote is from her website:

"In Congress, Congresswoman Gillibrand has been a firm opponent of any proposal that would give amnesty to illegal aliens. The federal government must provide the necessary resources to secure our borders, which is critical for America’s economic and national security. She strongly supports legislation that would significantly increase the number of border patrol agents and place sophisticated technology along the Southern border to catch human and drug smugglers.

Congresswoman Gillibrand authored and passed an amendment that will prevent employers who have hired illegal aliens from receiving federal contracts.

In addition, Congresswoman Gillibrand believes English should be made the official language of the United States and she opposes providing non-emergency taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens. As a Member of the Agriculture Committee, she has advocated for a review of the current H-2A visa system, so that farmers will have access to legal workers when they cannot find Americans to fill their labor needs."

And on the Second Amendment and gun control: "Congresswoman Gillibrand grew up in a family of hunters and strongly supports the rights of all hunters and gun owners. She has been an ardent opponent of legislation that will curb the Second Amendment for responsible gun owners and currently has a 100% voting record with the National Rifle Association (NRA). As a Member of the Agriculture Committee, she sponsored an amendment to the Farm Bill that will expand public lands dedicated for conservation and hunting."

Now if we could just get some Republicans to believe this, we might be making real progress.
