Bob Schaffer is taking every opportunity to capitalize on this silly mistake on the part of Udall. Actually, it may not have been a mistake but an attempt to avoid making party leaders angry on what obviously was going to be a close vote to let them go on their five-week vacation.
This video is a little over three minutes long but includes the on air promise that Udall made to vote against adjournment and the news stories in Denver about the effect of his not voting and the adjournment occurring on a single vote margin.
It's unlikely that Udall thought the vote would be so close that his non-appearance would have triggered this sort of scrutiny but there you have it.
Video also includes some creepy looking shots of Udall moving around the airport looking as though he's trying to avoid cameras. What the context is of the shots is not known but they're certainly not helpful to Udall.
