City Manager Seems To Be Trying-I Need To Give Credit When It Is Due

In trying to be fair, I thought it was high time that I mentioned that Grand Junction City Manager Laurie Kadrich seems to have been making an honest effort to address some of the concerns many of us have had about Grand Junction's direction.

Your editor met with the city manager approximately a month ago and discussed several topics that I had raised in the past and was pleasantly surprised to have an open discussion, especially given my rather forceful positions prior to the meeting.

One point I have especially seen demonstrated that we discussed was having the city manager step forward more into the light on her thinking and positions on some of the issues. I was pleasantly surprised to see within the next week a column from her on the editorial page of the Daily Sentinel on growth issues.

It's important to give credit on this important step of hearing from the person that has the most direct power over everyday city operations.
