Quest to Reward Good Teachers for Performance Gets Boost and Some approval from the Governor- And They Called Beauprez "Both Ways"


In his quest to seemingly keep everyone off guard Governor Ritter supports teacher pay incentives. To be fair he has mentioned his support before, but with his recent actions, especially unionizing state workers, we all felt he had been intimidated by the unions to oppose anything they didn't like.

"SB 65 will make $2 million available in seed money to all 178 Colorado school districts to jump-start programs that those districts design to reward their teachers.

The bill sets some basic criteria for those programs, such as that they will be designed to help close the achievement gap between different groups of students. However, any district applying for some of the seed money will be free to come up with a specific program that best addresses its circumstances."
