According to the Daily Sentinel "City finance officers banking on the continued growth of an energy-industry fueled economy have estimated the city will pull in roughly $50 million in sales-tax receipts, which would represent a 10 percent boost from receipts expected this year.
Sales tax revenue is expected to reach a little more than $45 million by the end of this year, a 12 percent jump over 2006, when receipts soared a record 16.6 percent."
