The Price We Pay for Monopoly -- City Demonstrates Why Competition Is Good

The above picture shows the sad state of my very own city trash can. This is the third time in three months that the poor devil has been found in such dire straits.

We are now forbidden to have trash contracts with private companies and must use city services; thus we see the result of having no choices.

Our prior contractor, when we lived outside of the city never left a container in such disarray and would even pick up a bag of trash if left by it- that also is a thing of the past when living in the city.

One wonders how things will go now that the city has a monopoly on ambulance services and put people out of work, especially since they are now more expensive to operate.
