One doesn't have to be a particularly astute student of history to know that the disastrous deal cut by the Obama administration with Iran on their buildup of nuclear material is simply allowing military preparation on the part of a clear future enemy of the U.S and certainly a present one to the nation of Israel.
How this deal is superior to a more forceful approach is is only possible to see when one considers that it is easier to abandon the Middle East in the hopes that they will like us more and leave us alone if we essentially give them Israel.
For those who desire to see how this type of policy turns out, they should spend some time studying the conference in Munich in 1938 with Neville Chamberlain and the Nazi party. The tacit approval or at least disengagement by the British signaled to the Germans that most of what they wanted to do could be done at very little cost and if done properly would make them very difficult for anyone to stop when the true objectives became clear.
Appeasement often leads to peace because it so often leads to defeat or surrender...Ed
