Tipton Press Release on Fundraising Campaign

SCOTT TIPTON CAMPAIGN FOR CONGRESS RAISES OVER $100,000 IN JUST 46 DAYS

100% of Contributions from Individuals, 96% from Colorado

Grand Junction, CO. – While John Salazar is meeting with his Democrat colleagues in backdoor dealings regarding the healthcare bill that he so passionately supported, Scott Tipton announced today a successful start to his campaign to defeat Rep. Salazar. Tipton’s fundraising totals for the fourth quarter; his first fundraising quarter as a candidate in Colorado’s third congressional district are:

Total raised in 4Q 2009 $108,836

Cash-on-hand $105,321

Total raised from Colorado $104,482

Total raised from Individuals $108,836

Contributions below $250 43%

“I am extremely pleased and grateful to announce that in our first 46 days of fundraising we raised nearly $109,000,” Tipton said. “I am truly honored by the amount of support I have received throughout the 3rd Congressional District, especially since my support is coming from individuals throughout Colorado and not from special interests and political action committees from Washington, like my opponent.”

“I very much appreciate the support of my fellow Coloradans who know we need to control spending, create jobs and keep the government out of the doctor’s office. I understand that we need to bring conservative values and Colorado common sense back to Washington.”
