Dingell is one of the old guard Democrats and by old guard we mean we think he came to congress just prior to the Civil War.
Actually, if you go to the end of the clip you will learn two things: 1) He clearly could care less what these people have to say and, 2) He says he has been in Congress 50 years.
Just what the Framers had in mind-50 year serving congressman. Someone should tell him that ALL those stars on the flag are states now! I think Dingell believes the protesters are from the Whig party.
