Obama doesn't think the country that invented the automobile should walk away from it. I agree but I don't see any sign that the Germans are walking away from the automobile.
No one gives America credit for inventing the automobile except apparently the President and I'm loath to criticize him since it is nice to hear him say something positive about the United States.
I suppose now that he has been elected president he can truly be proud of the country but it would be nice if he seemed to know something about it besides that he was elected from the same state as Abraham Lincoln.
The real interest of this story will be how the media reports it. If George Bush or a Dan Quayle had made the same kind of statement we would hear the commentators on three fourths of the television dial yukking it up about how dumb the president was not to know better.
