I have to admit that even I did not think that the city would waste so much time in trying to figure out some other reason than cost for the failure of their project.
The amount of money spent in staff time is probably quite large to determine something that should be quite obvious.
After having it's presence brought to my attention I did take a look and was not disappointed at the contortions to avoid any responsibility for their failure to get a much-needed police building in their quest for a much less needed and quite grand series of projects.
Mesa County has always been highly supportive of law enforcement and to fail to be able to tap into that sentiment speaks volumes about the overreaching on the part of the administration.
Within minutes after the obvious defeat of the initiatives, city administration began an attempt to pin the blame on economic woes as perceived by city residents.
This is partially true, mainly to the extent that residents were not eager to let what has proven to be an enthusiastically spendthrift municipal government have carte blanche to continue to indulge it's edifice complex, while hiding behind public safety needs.
I hope that some at City Hall on the second floor are aware that we have a couple of excellent orthopedic medicine practices in the area. It seems that stressors to the shoulder caused by repeated attempts to yank the monkey of Tabor off their back may cause some rotator cuff injury.
