Buescher as Speaker-Not so Fast, There May Be a Fight
We have to admit that the idea of the House district 55 representative being made Speaker is both harrowing and enticing.
As conservatives we would prefer that he be retired to his ancestral home to pen his memoirs titled perhaps "Tuesdays with Ritter" or "My dinner with Andy".
Failing that, it appears he has a challenger for this coveted position who perhaps sees what we see; which is that if he survives this reelection bid it will be with a limp and not a swagger.
Not a quality that is usually sought for a leadership position where one may be forced to take positions that are not universally popular, particularly in a district slanted towards the opposition party.
This weakened leadership can provide openings for a strong conservative challenge and so short of a hearty handclasp and goodbye; a teetering Democrat Speaker from the perspective of conservatives, is at least a silver lining.
