20K From a Foreclosure Investor-with the Energy Policy of This Candidate it Might be a Great Business

The Daily Sentinel reported today that County Commissioner candidate David Kearsley received two $10,000 donations from a Mesa County resident who operates a foreclosure investment operation. Click here to go to story

So is candidate Kearsley also the letter writer David Kearsley that recently wrote a letter to the Daily Sentinel complaining about a conflict of interest with Commissioner Rowland thinking about starting a business someday that may or may not accept clients that have employees in Mesa County?

Here is an interesting little quote from that letter
"Special interests find many clever and legal ways to buy favor. I find this influence-peddling to be offensive." Click quote to go to letter.

Now we have a $20,000 contribution to the presumptive writers campaign from a single person here in Mesa County that apparently runs a business managing foreclosed properties.

The representation is that he doesn't "manage" properties here in Mesa County. That seems fortunate to this writer but the implication would be that with the election of Mr. Kearsley the opportunity for these types of investments might increase.

Without having done any research other than our memories, this is probably the largest single donation to a commissioner race in Mesa County history.

In retrospect perhaps the headline should have contained the phrase "Rino loose in Mesa County".
