Open Meeting Laws Only Go One Direction
In a sign that can only mean that it's time to bury your wallet in the back yard, the Senate Democrat caucus ejected a Republican staffer from their meeting.
State law of course requires that when more than two legislators meet to talk about public business the meeting be open to the public.
So when the staffer showed up for the Democrat caucus meeting he was surprised when he was told it was "private".
According to the Colorado Senate News the staffer on a previous occasion at an early-morning meeting had been told by the presiding Democrat " why don't you go get some breakfast".
I wonder what they'll say if the Republicans do that to them?
Hey, at least nobody asked him to go get them some coffee; given their approach this year I'm sure they would've wanted him to pay for it.
