When Egos Collide -- The Beginning of the Bruce/Romanoff Wars

In the battle of self-importance it's hard to see who wins here. As reported in the Rocky Mountain News, tax gadfly and author of Colorado's Taxpayers Bill Of Rights Doug Bruce, is requesting a public swearing in ceremony at the state legislature which is being resisted by Democratic leadership. Bruce appointed to fill a vacant House seat, has immediately gotten into a tussle over comments that were made by Speaker Andrew Romanoff that Bruce found provocative.

Bruce claims that Romanoff has a grudge against him as the author of the tax limitation amendment. This is probably true but there is little indication that Bruce is being treated particularly different from other interim appointments since most of them are handled in private. The bad news is that Romanoff is claiming that this is stopping other business from proceeding. The good news is this is probably stopping other business from proceeding -since most of the business out of the legislature lately has not been all that great for the state, particularly the Western Slope.

Most likely this is probably the first time that Romanoff has met someone with a similar ego. Make up your own mind with the link to the Rocky story here and the link to the letter that Bruce wrote to the legislature on the issue here, also from the Rocky Mountain News.
