Local roundabout advocate and City Councilman Jim Doody continues to announce his intention to seek the County commission seat presently held by Commissioner Craig Meis.
Doody made his announcement at Doodles Bistro (you just can't make some of this stuff up) Wednesday. According to the Daily Sentinel:

"Grand Junction Mayor Jim Doody, a Republican candidate for the November Mesa County commissioners’ election, is thumbing his nose at the Republican Party by bypassing the Feb. 5 Republican caucus.
Doody announced today that he will instead attempt to petition himself onto the ballot...."
This sounds a little painful, those ballots can be sharp.
