Is There a Cure for the Curry Syndrome?

We have long expressed concern about State Representative Kathleen Curry's opposition to energy development and associated jobs in Western Colorado or probably anywhere if one were to ask .

Up to now we have accepted her presence in the state legislature has simply another obstacle that the Lord has placed on our way to prosperity as a test -- similar to those that afflicted Job.

We also are aware of rumors that the Representative hopes to make a run at the Speaker's chair in the Colorado House. This is doubly dangerous for Western Coloradans interested in full employment, since not only will her left of center ideas be on even more prominent display but the silk stocking environmental lobby will use her perceived credibility as a Western slope legislator to assist in convincing more dim bulbs that, yes, we would like to have our living revolve around being trail guides and fishing lure salesman for wealthy out-of-state tourists.

There does appear to be hope however, in the form of a yet un-named possible candidate in the Gunnison area that we have been told has significant credibility to challenge her on her home turf.

We are strong believers in the advantages of local representation but we also believe that the image that the Representative portrays to her home voters is at variance with the consequences of her voting record and is meant to please mostly Denver-based lobbyists and the Western Garfield County "we are rich but we want you to live in a tepee" crowd.

We will do a little investigation in the near future on this topic and see what we can find out about this possible cure for the "Curry Syndrome".
