Join Us on Saturday for the Radio Show -- 1 p.m. 1100AM KNZZ

Today we are going to talk to the organizers of the Mesa County Tea Party, which as most of you know is an opportunity for everyone in the area to meet on April 15 to demonstrate our unhappiness with the present state of taxation, representation and the country's economic direction.

We also are speaking to the organizers of the 912 project, which will also be on April 15 but at 6 p.m.; the purpose of which is to try and get people together to manifest the same feelings that many had the day after 9/11.

The hope is to return to a feeling of solidarity based on the principles put forth by the founders of the nation, the Constitution and sound political philosophy that puts the will of the people beyond the need of government.

The Tea Party will be held at noon on the 15th at the bandstand in Lincoln Park in Grand Junction. The 912 project will meet at 6 p.m. that same night at the Lincoln Park barn also located in Lincoln Park and the organizers hope that as many people as possible will come and discuss their feelings about the country's present direction.

Both rallies are nonpartisan and are efforts to demonstrate the commitment of the citizens to sound policies of taxation, spending and personal freedom. The organizers would ask that people try and refrain from making signs that promote or denigrate specific candidates or officeholders but address issues of policy and how to work within the system to bring about a return to fundamental principles.

We will also be discussing the goings-on at the legislature with Face the State's Brad Jones and I will be presenting a little historical background on "the shores of Tripoli" and the parallels of the Barbary Pirates and what were seeing today. Hope you can join us.
